WWE Smackdown Live (25/07/2017): Review

Image
WWE must have realized that Battleground was everything but a PPV - apart from it being labelled as one. Seemingly back on track to compete with Raw's surging viewership ratings and gravitational storylines, Smackdown Live made the best show possible to reinvigorate its stardom on TV. Smackdown Live is now on the course, sprinting swiftly towards establishing mouth-watering storylines for The Biggest Party of The Summer. Let's have a look at the proceedings. Credits: WWE.com Results: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch defeat Tamina Snuka and Lana. Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger defeat Mike Kanellis and Aiden English. AJ Styles defeats Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho to become new US Champion. Jericho's Big Return Kevin Owens, the new US Champ after Battleground, kicked the show off as he began gloating about conquering what was rightfully his and eventually concluding that he was a better champion that AJ Styles. WWE Raw Review (25/07/2017)

Picking up from their below-par offering at yesterday's Smackdown Live-exclusive PPV, Battleground, WWE seemed to have hit the nail on the head with Raw this week. In what seemingly has become a regularity, WWE Raw continues to awe the WWE Universe with amazing storylines and brawls that carry a heavy reminder of the bygone golden eras! Let's have a look at the proceedings. Credits: wrestlingnewssource.com Results: Elias Samson defeats Finn Balor in a No Disqualification match. Big Cass defeats Enzo Amore. Nia Jax defeats Emma. #1 Contender's Match for Women's Title: Bayley defeats Sasha Banks. Jason Jordan defeats Curt Hawkins. The Revival defeat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins defeat The Miz, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. Kurt Angle-Braun Strowman-Samoa Joe-Roman Reigns Kurt Angle made a quick work of addressing Jason Jordan's reveal as his son and was happy to put him up for a match tonight. He then subtly m

What a show! To all those people who actually paid to watch this, there is no amount of sympathy I have that would satiate your unfathomable loss. To all those people, including myself, who actually wasted time watching the Smackdown-exclusive PPV, there is not enough empathy in the world that could give us back our precious time. Let's just get into the proceedings.  Credits: cagesideseats.com Results: Kickoff: Aiden English defeats Tye Dillinger. Tag Team Championship: The New Day defeat The Usos to become new champions. Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin via DQ. #1 Contender's Match for the Women's Title: Natalya wins. US Championship: Kevin Owens defeats AJ Styles to become new champion. Flag Match: John Cena defeats Rusev. Sami Zayn defeats Mike Kanellis. WWE Championship Match: Jinder Mahal escapes the Punjabi Prison to retain his championship. Kickoff: Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger Before the match, Aiden English starts singing as

WWE Battleground: Complete Match-card and Predictions

Image
The Smackdown Live-exclusive PPV, Battleground 2017 doesn't really look impressive, given the fact that this is the last PPV before Summerslam. A total of 8 matches have been announced, out of which, 3 will be Championship matches, a Flag Match, a #1 Contender's match and 3 non-title matches. Multiple rematches don't really call for exciting bouts, however, a few of them have the potential to steal the show. Here's looking into the complete match-card and my predictions: Credits: WWE.com Kickoff: Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger There is no real story-line here. This is the second consecutive time that these two are crossing paths due to the sole fact that WWE Creative needs something to ignite the crowd ahead of a forgetful night. The Perfect 10, Tye Dillinger, has been on a role, given the fact that he went up against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal a couple of weeks back. These two prospects have the ability to pull off a good match in terms of technicality and e

With Five days to go for the Smackdown Live-exclusive Pay-Per-View Battleground, WWE is gearing up for a monumental task of maintaining its viewership for the underwhelming event. With a lackluster main-event and packed up midcard and undercard matches that have the potential to steal the show, let's take a look into how WWE plans to put in the finishing touches at the go-home show for Battleground. Credits: WWE.com Results: Jimmy Uso defeats Kofi Kingston Mike Kanellis defeats Sami Zayn Becky Lynch defeats Charlotte Flair Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens defeat AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura Return of The Punjabi Prison: With the aggressive entry that WWE is trying to approach into India, The Punjabi Prison opened the show. Cameras moving here and there, catching every glimpse of the bamboo-prison, does little to accentuate the threat it poses. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal enters, flanked by the Singh Brothers to address the WWE Universe. The Modern Day Maharaja
