Showing posts with the label Becky Lynch

WWE Smackdown Live (15/08/2017): Review

Image
Smackdown Live couldn't build up to the hype created by Raw, but in its own defense, it did take away a lot of buzz-worthy storylines that could've developed after. A failed cash-in and Shane's involvement in the US Title picture headlined the show. Let's have a look. Credits: WWE.com Results: Natalya defeated Becky Lynch. Rusev vs. Chad Gable ended in a double count-out. The Usos defeated The New Day. Jinder Mahal vs. John Cena ended in a no contest. Mahal's Independence Speech Jinder Mahal kicked off the show along with the Singh Brother by inviting a live band performance of the Indian National Anthem. Mahal then took to address the audience by stating that he would beat John Cena in a more dominating fashion than Nakamura did and started his usual ranting in Punjabi. Nakamura interrupted him and claimed that he would take the title from him at Summerslam. This was a sub-par segment. Hopefully, WWE are done experimenting with Jinder Ma...

WWE Smackdown Live (25/07/2017): Review

Image
WWE must have realized that Battleground was everything but a PPV - apart from it being labelled as one. Seemingly back on track to compete with Raw's surging viewership ratings and gravitational storylines, Smackdown Live made the best show possible to reinvigorate its stardom on TV. Smackdown Live is now on the course, sprinting swiftly towards establishing mouth-watering storylines for The Biggest Party of The Summer. Let's have a look at the proceedings. Credits: WWE.com Results: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch defeat Tamina Snuka and Lana. Sami Zayn and Tye Dillinger defeat Mike Kanellis and Aiden English. AJ Styles defeats Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho to become new US Champion. Jericho's Big Return Kevin Owens, the new US Champ after Battleground, kicked the show off as he began gloating about conquering what was rightfully his and eventually concluding that he was a better champion that AJ Styles. A s...

WWE Battleground: Complete Match-card and Predictions

Image
The Smackdown Live-exclusive PPV, Battleground 2017 doesn't really look impressive, given the fact that this is the last PPV before Summerslam. A total of 8 matches have been announced, out of which, 3 will be Championship matches, a Flag Match, a #1 Contender's match and 3 non-title matches. Multiple rematches don't really call for exciting bouts, however, a few of them have the potential to steal the show. Here's looking into the complete match-card and my predictions: Credits: WWE.com Kickoff: Aiden English vs. Tye Dillinger There is no real story-line here. This is the second consecutive time that these two are crossing paths due to the sole fact that WWE Creative needs something to ignite the crowd ahead of a forgetful night. The Perfect 10, Tye Dillinger, has been on a role, given the fact that he went up against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal a couple of weeks back. These two prospects have the ability to pull off a good match in terms of technicality and e...

Smackdown Live! Review (18/07/2017)

With Five days to go for the Smackdown Live-exclusive Pay-Per-View Battleground, WWE is gearing up for a monumental task of maintaining its viewership for the underwhelming event. With a lackluster main-event and packed up midcard and undercard matches that have the potential to steal the show, let's take a look into how WWE plans to put in the finishing touches at the go-home show for Battleground. Credits: WWE.com Results: Jimmy Uso defeats Kofi Kingston Mike Kanellis defeats Sami Zayn Becky Lynch defeats Charlotte Flair Baron Corbin and Kevin Owens defeat AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura Return of The Punjabi Prison: With the aggressive entry that WWE is trying to approach into India, The Punjabi Prison opened the show. Cameras moving here and there, catching every glimpse of the bamboo-prison, does little to accentuate the threat it poses. WWE Champion Jinder Mahal enters, flanked by the Singh Brothers to address the WWE Universe. The Modern Day Maharaja ...

Wildfire: Assessing the rumor-mill (14/07/2017)

Disclaimer:   Given the continuous changing nature of major events in the WWE, rumors are just a way to stay updated with the proceedings in WWE. Please note that these are not legitimately underway. Here's a look into the weekly round-up of all the rumors and the updates taking place in WWE. Credits: WWE.com 1. July 23, 2017, we will witness the storied Smackdown Live PPV from Philadelphia. As observed on several media sources like Sportskeeda, Wrestling Observer, WWE isn't quite pleased with the ticket sales of the Smackdown-exclusive Battleground PPV. Despite the huge following WWE has in Philly, they're having a hard time selling the tickets for the PPV. Take a look at the match card: Jinder Mahal(C) vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship (Punjabi Prison Match) John Cena vs. Rusev (Flag Match) AJ Styles(C) vs. Kevin Owens (US Championship) The Usos (C) vs. The New Day (Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship) Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin Charl...

Smackdown Live! Review (04/07/2017)

Reviewing the Blue-Brand's Independence Day Celebrations! Image Source: wrestlingac.com Results: AJ Styles defeats Chad Gable. SD Womens' Championship: Naomi (C) defeats Lana. Aiden English defeats Randy Orton. US Title #1 Contender Battle Royal: AJ Styles wins.  Breaking it down: Cena Returns: The 16-time World Champion is finally back after a long summer. And how! Just as he enters, the crowd comes alive! The last time we saw this was when Shane McMahon had returned. He runs into the ring, and quickly addresses the WWE Universe. He's all fired up and because it's Independence Day, no other return could've meant as much. He immediately makes note of the fact that he's been labelled as the part-time mascot of WWE and rubbishes those claims to state that he is an "All-timer". He also talks about the controversial "Free Agent" tag and goes on to say that if his time is limited, he is going all guns blazing. He drops a fe...
