Great Balls of Fire: Complete match-card and Early Predictions

WWE's ambitious PPV, "Great Balls of Fire", is ready to set ablaze TV viewership for the company this Sunday. Ridiculed for its controversial name and initial logo, the PPV has turned out to have an exciting match-card that can turn this B-show into an easy A.

Here's looking into the match-card and my early predictions for the PPV:

Neville vs. Akira Tozawa (Cruiserweight Championship Match)

These two have been steadily building up to this PPV. Neville, as always, has ruled the Cruiserweight division and looks in wonderful touch lately. It will possibly be another clinical performance by him, the lone shining star of the deteriorating division. On the other hand, Tozawa too has been gaining momentum with Titus by his side. Ever since signing up for Titus Worldwide, Tozawa has been given the deserved push in WWE's experiment to establish a storied rivalry between two superstars in the division. 

Tozawa looks good, but Neville looks better. WWE will probably look to extend this, and then award Tozawa with the prized possession at Summerslam.

Prediction: Neville (C) retains over Tozawa.

Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass

WWE Creative have done wonders building up to this feud. However, I feel, these guys were separated a bit early. They could have easily pushed Cass into the Mid-card title scene, with Enzo taking his back. That would, however, not helped Enzo at all. This won't as well. We've seen Cass obliterating Enzo innumerable times. Even when Enzo tried to ambush Cass on Raw this week, Cass tossed him away with ease. It is true that Enzo has a lot of fight in him- that guy can take a beating and still stand up- but that really doesn't make any difference against someone with the talent and power like Cass. 

Prediction: Cass demolishes Enzo (and may be shelves him for a while).

The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose (Intercontinental Championship Match)

Ambrose's run with the championship previously did nothing to bring the coveted title into the limelight, whereas, Kevin Owens has significantly raised the stock for his US Title. There was a brief time when the IC Title got back its glory days, and it was solely due to the Miz. This is why, the Miz is holding the title now, and should hold it even further. He is doing a great job since the past 1 year in increasing the excitement in the mid-card level and is being handsomely rewarded for it. 

Obviously, there will be interference, due to the fact that the Miz-tourage (Bo and Axel) and Maryse will be present ring-side, inciting a Slater and Rhyno support for Ambrose. The fight won't be clean, but Miz needs to hold it, much more than before.

Prediction: The Miz (C) retains over Dean Ambrose (with a possibility of DQ).

Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Hardy Boyz (30-minute Iron Man Match for Tag Team Championship)

These two teams have been carrying the load for the entire division given the fact that Sawft and The Golden Truth have gone their separate ways. Luke Gallows and Anderson as well as The Revival have not been getting enough screen time, thereby putting the division in need of a change. 

The stipulation suits Sheamus and Cesaro due to the sole fact that they are battle-hardened men and have enormous stamina, but that doesn't write off the Hardyz. Ever since returning on Wrestlemania, the Hardy Boyz have held their own, and are the only team in the division who are way over with the audience.

Technically, it only makes sense that the Hardyz go on to win the match and then battle either Gallows-Anderson or The revival late into the summer. 

Prediction: The Hardy Boyz defeat Sheamus and Cesaro (C).

Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt

Lack of a story-line here, added with an already packed main-event card has led these two superstars to go against each other. Their entire rivalry seems real stupid though, because Bray's promos have not made much sense (like every other time), and Rollins doesn't seem invested in the rivalry. Both of them already know that this is not going to lead to anything. This will probably be a 3-match series, with Rollins coming out on top at the end of Summerslam. 

Its just really disappointing what WWE is doing with Rollins. I mean, he is literally the best wrestler on the roster right now, and deserves way more than he is getting. 

Prediction: Rollins wins.

Alexa Bliss vs. Sasha Banks (Raw Women's Championship)

Ever since the dawn of the New Era, WWE has been invested in its female superstars and it is a treat to watch these extraordinary women pull of inexplicable feats. A renewed interest in Sasha Banks has led to her bulldozing her way into the Championship contention. Alexa Bliss has done a great work being the legitimate heel she is. This match is going to have a lot of energy and a lot of close calls as these two women will look forward to bringing the house down. Worthy of a main event, I wouldn't be surprised if Sasha Banks actually pulls this off.

However, WWE still has its plans in place for a mega-event Sasha vs Bayley match, and that could probably result in Alexa Bliss retaining now, only to drop to Banks later on in the summer.

Prediction: Alexa Bliss (C) retains over Sasha Banks (expect some distraction though).

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match)

Strowman has lived up to his big push into the main-event scene. There seems to be nothing that can stop him in his path of destruction, and it certainly doesn't seem to be Roman Reigns. 

This feud has been a regular on and off one and both their presence was dearly missed earlier on when both were injured, respectively. These two are forces to reckon with and they certainly increase ticket sales. Roman Reigns may be booed a lot, he may be cursed due to always finding favor with Vince's obsession of big and pretty men, but the Big dog surely knows how to mark his presence. Strowman too, has been an amazing draw for the WWE and they seem to be completely invested into him. 

WWE should not change their Wrestlemania plans due to the fact that Roman will always remain a main-event draw. Braun, however, need the momentum and setting him up against Lesnar later this year could be the big ticket to stardom that he is in the hunt for. He is the best heel in WWE right now, crushing his way past each and every superstar, and this match should cement him at the top.

Prediction: Strowman wins convincingly.

Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe (Universal Championship Match)

WWE have struck gold, and how!

Joe, the legit badass that he is, has brought in a breather here. Lesnar has not been dominated ever by anyone not named Goldberg, and Samoa Joe is really getting under his skin. The promos have garnered amazing response and Joe seems to be their best bet for a main-event status right now. 

The build-up to this match and the anticipation that WWE has brought in here has transcended all facts of Brock being a part-timer. Brock has allowed Joe to shine on his own before beating the living daylights out of him in the PPV. That apart, these two behemoths have kept the audience at the edge of their seats. Expect nothing less than a spectacular segment that these two will bring out in each other and rest assured are going to bring the house down. 

I sincerely hope that this is more than a one-off thing, as Joe is one of the superstars who can legitimately defeat Lesnar on his day. Don't be surprised if Joe actually picks up the surprise win!

Prediction: Lesnar (C) retains over Joe (WWE is probably still going to proceed with Lesnar vs Reigns at WM34).
